FURMAN MEN'S SOCCER LEADS NATION IN SCORING; NUSUM, HOCH, RAAD, AND ASGEIRSSON RANK NATIONALLY

GREENVILLE, SC ­ The Furman men's soccer team is once again leading the nation in scoring with an average of 4.75 goals per match, while four Paladins rank high in NCAA national statistics.

The Paladins concluded the 2000 season as the Division I scoring leader with a 3.30 per match average.

Senior forward John Barry Nusum is second in the nation with 3.75 points per match and is fourth in the nation with 1.5 goals per match. Sophomore Scott Hoch is currently ranked tenth with 2.667 points per match and 14th with 1.0 goals per match.

Sophomore forward Sergei Raad is currently leading the nation in assists per match with 1.33 dishes per contest and is tied with Hoch for tenth with 2.667 points per match. Freshman standout Asgeir Asgeirsson is ranked fourth nationally with 1.0 assists per match.

Furman is currently 5-0 on the season and ranked fourth in the latest Soccer America national poll. The Paladins are also in the College Soccer News and Men's Media Poll's Top Ten. Furman will take on Virginia Commonwealth and Cal-Poly this weekend in the Clemson Invitational Soccer Tournament.
