FURMAN MEN'S SOCCER LEADS NATION IN SCORING; ASGEIRSSON, NUSUM RANK IN NATIONAL STATS

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman men's soccer team is once again leading the nation in scoring as it tops the NCAA Division I scoring charts with a 4.667 per match average.

The Paladins concluded the 2000 season as the Division I scoring leader with a 3.30 per match average.

Furman freshman Asgeir Asgeirsson ranks sixth in assists per match as he has tallied four assists in three matches. Senior John Barry Nusum ranks 17th in goals per match and 12th in points per match as he has recorded three goals and two assists for eight points on the year.

Furman is currently 3-0 on the season and ranked fourth in the latest Soccer America national poll. The Paladins are also in the College Soccer News and Men's Media Pollšs Top Ten. Furman takes on The Citadel Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
