FURMAN'S RAAD NAMED TO NATIONAL TEAM-OF-THE-WEEK

GREENVILLE, SC ­ Sophomore midfielder Sergei Raad was named to the College Soccer News team-of-the-week for his performance this week against College of Charleston and in the Clemson/Nike Soccer Invitational.

Raad scored a goal and recorded an assist in a 4-0 win over College of Charleston that gave head coach Doug Allison his 100th career win. Raad added three goals in the Clemson tournament, including both game-winners over Virginia Commonwealth and Cal Poly SLO, as he was named the tournament's offensive MVP.

"Sergei had a tremendous week on the field," said head coach Doug Allison. "He showed his great offensive capabilities."

Raad is the second leading scorer for the third ranked Paladins with six goals and five assists on the season.

Furman is currently 7-0 and will host No. 13 South Carolina on Wednesday night at Eugene Stone III Soccer Stadium.
