FURMAN MEN'S SOCCER POISED TO TAKE ON UNC GREENSBORO

GREENVILLE, SC -- The 20th ranked Furman men's soccer prepares to travel to UNC Greensboro for a chance to claim the Southern Conference regular season crown on Saturday.

Furman clinched at least a share of the title with its 1-0 win over Davidson on November 3rd. This is the Paladins fourth consecutive title and their tenth in 11 years. A win over Greensboro on Saturday will give Furman the outright title and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Southern Conference Tournament.

Furman is currently led by 2001 Hermann trophy finalist and MAC Award candidate John Barry Nusum. Nusum is Furman's all-time leader in career goals and points and enters the match with 13 goals and six assists on the season. He leads an offensive that ranks first in the nation in goals per match with 3.47.

Furman leads the all-time series against UNC Greensboro with a 5-4 record, including a 3-1 win last season. The Paladins are looking for their fourth straight win over the Spartans.

Furman enters the match with a 13-4 overall record and a 7-0 mark in the conference. UNC Greensboro is second in the conference with a 6-1 league record and an 11-6 overall mark.
