Furman's Nusum Selected To Soccer America Team-of-the-Week

GREENVILLE ­ Furman senior forward John Barry Nusum was selected to the Soccer America Team-of-the-Week for the second time this season after recording a hat trick in Furman¹s 5-0 victory over The Citadel.

Nusum, a candidate for the 2001 Hermann Trophy, recorded his fourth career hat trick in the match. With his three goal performance, Nusum became Furman¹s all-time leader in career goals with 51, passing former standout Andrew Burr's ten-year mark of 50 career goals.

Nusum is a two-time first team NSCAA All American and has tallied 52 goals and 35 assists over his career. Already Furman's all-time leader in goals and points, he is only six assists shy of the Furman career assists record.

Nusum will lead the fourth ranked Paladins against Virginia Commonwealth and Cal Poly this weekend at Clemson.
