FURMAN'S NUSUM LANDS NATIONAL TEAM-OF-THE-WEEK HONORS

GREENVILLE, SC -- Senior forward John Barry Nusum earned a spot on the Soccer America and the College Soccer News national team-of-the-week with his three goal performance in the Umbro/Spinx Furman Invitational.

After trailing 1-0 in the first half against No. 20 Notre Dame, Nusum tied the score before going into halftime. In the second overtime period, Nusum headed in the game-winner 109 minutes into the match. Nusum continued his offensive attack with a goal against Florida International.

"John Barry has proven time and time again what a great player he is," said head coach Doug Allison. "This weekend was just another example of his incredible offensive ability."

Nusum finished the weekend with three goals and two assists on the season, giving him 48 points and 34 assists for 130 points in his career. He is currently Furman's all-time leader in points and is two goals away from tying 1990 graduate Andrew Burr as the career goals leader.
