ASHEVILLE, NC -- Furman men's soccer goalkeeper Scott Blount was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
A senior from Brentwood, Tenn., Blount led Furman to two conference shutouts last week. He recorded his fourth full shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Davidson on November 3. Blount tallied six saves and faced seven shots in the match.
In his final home game as a Paladin on October 31, Blount recorded a shared shutout in a 7-0 win over Wofford. He also notched his lone career goal in the final minutes of the match.
Blount leads the league with a 0.95 goals against average and is tied for first in shutouts. His 58 saves this season is good for fourth.
