GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman men's soccer standouts Matt Goldsmith and John Barry Nusum were selected to the College Soccer Online preseason All America team on Friday. Goldsmith was a first team selection as a defender, while Nusum was a second team pick as a forward.

"I feel we are returning two of the best players in the country," said Furman head coach Doug Allison of Nusum and Goldsmith. "They have proven for two years that they are exceptional players and I expect even better things from them this year."

Furman officially opens preseason training next Wednesday and is coming off its best season in school history. The Paladins posted a 21-2-1 record, advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament, and finished the season ranked No. 3 by Soccer America and No. 5 by the NSCAA.
