GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman All American forward John Barry Nusum was named to the Soccer America Team-of-the-Week for his performace in two wins last week.
Nusum played a part in four of five goals for the Paladins last week as Furman cliched its third straight Southern Conference title and its tenth in the last 11 years. Nusum scored one goal and recorded one assist in Furmanıs 3-0 shutout of Georgia Southern and recorded a goal and an assist in Furmanıs SoCon clinching 2-0 victory over Davidson. Nusumıs goal against Davidson was the game-winner.
John Barry Nusum leads Furman and the Southern Conference with 12 goals and 8 assists for 32 points this season. Nusum was a first team All American last season as he helped lead Furman to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
Furman is 13-3-1 on the season and ranked 11th in the latest Soccer America poll. The Paladins conclude the regular season Sunday at VMI and open the Southern Conference Tournament next Thursday in Charleston, S.C.
Nusum becomes the second Paladin to earn Soccer America Team-of-the-Week honors as McNeil Cronin made the team earlier this year.
