FURMAN RANKED 9TH IN NATION

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman men's soccer improved to ninth in the latest Soccer America national rankings and remain ranked in all major national polls.

Furman downed conference foes Appalachian State and College of Charleston in convincing fashion as the Paladins defeated Appalachian State 5-0 and College of Charleston 6-1.

Furman travels to the Nike Invitational at Clemson this weekend with matches against nationally ranked powers Cal. State Fullerton and Brown. The Paladins play Cal. State Fullerton Friday at 5 p.m. and Brown Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Furman is also ranked 13th in the NCAA Division I media poll, 22nd in the NSCAA poll, and 17th by Soccer Times. The Paladins are also ranked fourth in the NSCAA South Region poll.

The Paladins are fourth in the nation in scoring this season with 25 goals in their first seven matches for an average of 3.57 per match. Forward John Barry Nusum ranks sixth in the nation in points per match, 17th in goals per match, and 16th in assists per match in the nation.
