FURMAN DOWNS THE CITADEL 8-0

CHARLESTON, SC -- The sixth ranked Furman men's soccer team remained undefeated in Southern Conference play with a 8-0 win over The Citadel Thursday in Charleston.

All American Junior John Barry Nusum recorded a hat trick on the day and moved into third place on Furman's all-time goal scoring chart, passing current assistant coach Ryan Higginbotham. Nusum now has ten goals and six assists this season. He has now recorded 37 goals and 26 assists for 100 career points. He is only the fourth player in Furman history to record 100 points in his career.

Anthony Esquivel added two goals and an assist to help pace the Paladins. Patrick Tanner, Ted Figard, and John Robert Foster also added goals for the Paladins.

With the win, Furman improves to 10-1 on the season, 4-0 in the Southern Conference while The Citadel falls to 3-8, 0-4 in league play. Furman returns to action Sunday against UAB at 3 p.m.
