FURMAN'S FOY, FACCIOLO NAMED SOCON PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman University soccer players Andy Foy and Lindsey Facciolo were named Southern Conference players-of-the-week on Monday.

Foy, a senior from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., scored twice as Furman defeated Clemson 3-2 in overtime at home last week. Facciolo, a redshirt freshman from Tampa, Fla., scored the lone goal in Furman's 1-0 win over #23 Iowa. The win was the first-ever win over a top 25 team for the Lady Paladins.

The Furman men's soccer team finished the regular season with a 15-1-1 record and a perfect 8-0 league mark. The Paladins are ranked in the top ten in the nation and will take on The Citadel Friday at 11:30 a.m.

The Furman women's soccer team finished the regular season with a 17-2 record and a perfect 9-0 league mark. The Lady Paladins will take on Western Carolina Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the SoCon tournament.

This marks the fourth Southern Conference player-of-the-week citations for both teams. For the men's team, Scott Blount, John Barry Nusum and Stephen Rodriguez were honored earlier this season, while Melissa Turner (twice) and Kaye Brownlee garnered player-of-the-week honors in previous weeks.
