FURMAN'S SEAGRAVES NAMED TO SOCCER AMERICA TEAM OF THE WEEK
GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman's Graham Seagraves was named to the Soccer America Team-of-the-Week after helping guide Furman to its eighth Southern Conference Championship in the last 12 years.
Seagraves, a senior from Stone Mountain, Ga., was named Southern Conference Tournament MVP for his defensive play in last weekend's tournament. Seagraves held Southern Conference leading scorer Alejandro Moreno in check during the Southern Conference championship match .
The Paladins are currently ranked fourth in the nation in latest Soccer America poll, its highest-ever national ranking.
"Graham was exceptional this weekend," said Furman head coach Doug Allison. "He played hard and through a lot of pain. His leadership as a captain has been tremendous this year."
Furman is currently 18-1-1 overall and on an 11-match winning streak. The Paladins host Radford in an NCAA Play-In Match this Saturday night at 6 p.m.
Seagraves' selection marks the third time this season that a Paladin has made the Soccer America Team-of-the-Week as Scott Blount and Stephen Rodriguez both made the team earlier this season. | ||
