FURMAN MEN'S, WOMEN'S SOCCER HOLD SECOND-BEST WINNING PERCENTAGE IN NATION

GREENVILLE, SC -- The combined records of the Southern Conference champion men's and women's soccer programs at Furman produce the second-best winning percentage in the nation.

Furman trails only Santa Clara, who for two weeks this season had both its men's and women's programs ranked #1 in the nation. The Furman men's team is ranked 7th in the nation and holds a 13-1-1 overall mark, while the women's team is having a remarkable 15-2 season. Both programs have won six matches in a row.

The Furman men's team hosts Clemson this Wednesday in a key regional battle. Furman is currently 7-0 in the Southern Conference and has one league match left to play - a date with Georgia Southern on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the regular season finale.

The Furman women's team has concluded a perfect 9-0 Southern Conference season. The Lady Paladins travel to Georgia State on Tuesday and host Iowa on Friday at 7 p.m.

A win by the Furman men on Sunday would give them a perfect league finish and mark the first time in Southern Conference history that men's and women's soccer teams from the same school both finished undefeated.
