FURMAN MEN'S SOCCER RANKED IN NATION
GREENVILLE -- The Furman University men's soccer team is remained 15th in the nation in the Soccer America poll, while they fell to 20th in the NSCAA poll and to 16th in the Soccer Times poll. Furman, who won its only match of the week, was ranked 11th by the NSCAA and 13th by Soccer Times in last week's polls.
Furman was scheduled to play UNC Charlotte last week, but the match was cancelled due to Hurricane Floyd. Furman downed Elon 2-0 on Sunday in the week's only match.
The Paladins, 5-0, are ranked fourth in the South Region. Furman's match with the College of Charleston, scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Charleston, S.C., has been postponed. No make-up date has been announced. Furman will host South Carolina Sunday at 2 p.m. in a big in-state rivalry game.
