FURMAN'S LEESE TRIES OUT FOR WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES

GREENVILLE -- Furman men's soccer standout Paul Lesse, a native of Chester, England, has advanced to the final round of tryouts for Great Britain's University squad that will compete in the World University Games in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in early July.

Leese, who has one year of eligibility remaining at Furman, departed for Bisham Abbey, Great Britain, this week and begins tryouts this weekend. Leese is one of six United States college soccer players invited to the series of camps.

Paul Leese started 21 matches, scored two goals, and recorded four assists last season in his first year with the Paladins. Leese was instrumental in guiding Furman to a 16-4-2 record and the Southern Conference regular season championship. Prior to playing at Furman, Leese spent one season at Charleston Southern University.
