Furman Men's Soccer Signs Third National Team Member

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman men's soccer coach Doug Allison announced Thursday the signing of forward John Nusum, of Devonshire, Bermuda to a national-letter-of-intent.

Nusum, a member of the Bermuda under-20 national team, becomes the third national team member to sign with the Paladins. Matt Goldsmith, of Roswell, Ga., and John Bradford, of Winston-Salem, N.C., were signed earlier this spring. Goldsmith is a member of the under-20 United States national team and is a two-time Parade All-American. Bradford has been a member of the under-15, under-16, and under-17 national teams and was a NSCAA/Umbro All American in 1995 and 1996.

Allison has also signed four others to letter-of-intents; Peter Eiland, a midfielder from Atlanta, Ga.; Scott Jones, a midfielder from Sandy, Utah; Jack Handy, a midfielder from Lilburn, Ga.; and Vaughn Bethel, a forward from Lakeland, Fla.

"I am really excited about this recruiting class," Allison said. "We have seven excellent student-athletes who will immediately make contributions to our program. There is a lot of talent and experience in this group, and I am looking forward to watching them develop into even better players over the next four years."
