Ronnie Pascale Drafted By Atlanta Silverbacks

GREENVILLE, SC -- Furman senior goalkeeper Ronnie Pascale was a second round pick of the Atlanta Silverbacks in the 1999 A-League draft.

Pascale, a four-time All-Southern Conference selection, was the 22nd pick in the second round. Pascale was a member of the NSCAA All-South Region Second Team in 1997 and 1998 and finished in the nation's top 15 in goals against average both seasons. Pascale finished his career with a 0.93 goals against average and posted a career best 0.71 goals against average in 1998. He is Furman's all-time leader in shutouts with 34.

Pascale becomes the third Paladin to play in the A-League, joining 1997 graduates Pete Santora and Todd Jackson of the Albuquerque Ghekos. In addition, current assistant coach Ryan Higginbotham and 1996 grauduate Brian Nickerson play for the South Carolina Shamrocks of the USISL.
