GREENVILLE, SC -- The 14th ranked Furman men's soccer team tied 18th ranked UNC Charlotte 2-2 Wednesday at Eugene Stone Stadium as the Paladins scored two goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation.
After trailing at the intermission for the first time all season 2-0, Furman rallied as Seth Marks scored the game-tying goal from 30-yards out with 25 seconds to play in regulation off a Stephen Rodriguez assist. Prior to Marks' goal, junior Graham Seagraves scored on a penalty kick to put the Paladins in reach.
UNC Charlotte opened the scoring in the first half with a goal from Stephen Pugliese just 12 seconds into the match. The goal tied for the quickest goal in 49er history and is the fourth quickest goal in NCAA Division 1 history. After the opening goal, Furman and UNCC played nearly 40 minutes of scoreless soccer until Paul Sackie scored off a header from Pablo Pinzon and Stephen Miller to put the 49ers up 2-0 at the break.
