LADY PALADINS FIRE 300 IN FINAL ROUND OF FALL PREVIEW

SUNRIVER, Oregon -- Furman's 15th-ranked Lady Paladin golf team improved 26 strokes from the first to third rounds at the NCAA Fall Preview, firing a final round 300 to finish 19th in the field of 21 with a 941 total. Top-ranked Duke won the Fall Preview Title with a three-round 878 tally.

Sophomore Tara Schultz (Wethersfield, Conn.) led all Furman scorers on Wednesday with an even-par final round to finish 58th at the 6,502-yard, par 72 Crosswater Club. Despite Schultz' showing, sophomore Jennifer Perri (Eden Prairie, Minn.), who took 31st, was the top Furman finisher with a three-round 228 after carding a 74 on Wednesday. Freshman Brandi Jackson (Belton, S.C.) fired a 73 for a 236 tally and 65th-place showing, while Cimmie Shahan (Spring Grove, Pa.) and Dara Broadus (Atlanta, Ga.) fired 81 and 87 to tie for 95th overall.

The Lady Paladins are in action again Oct. 2-3 at the Lady Buckeye Fall Invitational.
