FURMAN'S PERRI EARNS INDIVIDUAL BID TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP
LADY PALADINS FALL SHORT WITH 14TH-PLACE FINISH

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Furman sophomore Jennifer Perri carded a final round 75 Saturday at the Scarlet Golf Course to earn an individual bid to the NCAA Championships, despite the Lady Paladins' 14th-place team finish.

The Furman team carded a final-round 310 to post a 926 three-round total in the tournament, finishing in 14th, 11 strokes out of 11th place - the cutoff for NCAA Championship bids. Defending National Champion Duke won the NCAA East Regional with a three-round 897, while Purdue and Northwestern tied for second at 900, Tennessee took fourth at 902 and LSU placed fifth at 903. The University of Florida secured the final NCAA berth with an 11th-place 915 total.

She went on to place 30th at the National Championship which was held here at the Scarlet Golf Course.

Though Perri earned the NCAA bid, it was freshman Brandi Jackson who paced the Lady Paladins on the day. Jackson carded a two-over 74 with finish with a 229 total, while senior Stacey Burnett fired a 79 and finished with a 235 showing.
