FURMAN TIED FOR 14TH AT LIZ MURPHEY INTERCOLLEGIATE

ATHENS, Georgia -- Furman's Lady Paladin golf team is tied for 14th with Indiana at the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate after firing a first-round 316 Friday at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

Jennifer Perri led the Lady Paladin effort with a two-over 75 and is in 19th, while freshman Cimmie Shahan carded a 79, senior Stacey Burnett fired an 80, and freshman Brandi Jackson recorded an 82. Sophomore Tara Schultz was the non-counter with an 88. Furman was most successful on the par five 18, where they racked up three biridies, and the par five fifth hole, which gave up two Furman birdies. Stacey Burnett also carded a birdie on number two and Cimmie Shahan added another on number seven.

The Lady Paladins will play round two of the Liz Murphey on Saturday, teeing off number 10 beginning at 8:45 a.m.
