FURMAN¹S BROADUS AND PERRI ADVANCE
TO U.S. AMATEUR MATCH PLAY

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina -- Dara Broadus and Jennifer Perri, both members of Furman¹s Lady Paladin Golf Team, have advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Women¹s Amateur Championship after 36 holes of stroke play in which the field was pared from 144 to 64.

Broadus, a rising senior from Atlanta, Ga., carded 73-79 at the 6,202-yard, par 72, Biltmore Forest Golf Course to earn her first berth in U.S. Amateur match play. Perri, a sophomore who hails from Eden Prairie, Minn., fired 76-77 at the Donald Ross designed course and is also playing in her first U.S. Am.Perri is the reigning Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, and was co-medalist at the NCAA East Regional in May.

The overall winner of the U.S. Women¹s Amateur receives a two-year exemption from U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying, provided she remains an amateur.
