FURMANıS BROADUS AND PERRI ADVANCE
TO U.S. AMATEUR MATCH PLAY

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina -- Dara Broadus and Jennifer Perri, both members of Furmanıs Lady Paladin Golf Team, have advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Womenıs Amateur Championship after 36 holes of stroke play in which the field was pared from 144 to 64.

Broadus, a rising senior from Atlanta, Ga., carded 73-79 at the 6,202-yard, par 72, Biltmore Forest Golf Course to earn her first berth in U.S. Amateur match play. Perri, a sophomore who hails from Eden Prairie, Minn., fired 76-77 at the Donald Ross designed course and is also playing in her first U.S. Am.Perri is the reigning Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, and was co-medalist at the NCAA East Regional in May.

The overall winner of the U.S. Womenıs Amateur receives a two-year exemption from U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying, provided she remains an amateur.
