FURMAN WOMEN’S GOLF TAKES SIXTH AT MASON RUDOLPH


NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- The Furman women’s golf team recorded a sixth place finish in the Mason Rudolph Championships, shooting 290-299-303 for an 891 at the 6,302 yard Legends of Tennessee Golf Course. In addition, senior Sarah Johnston (St. Charles, Ill.) carded 71-71-72 for a second-place 214, one stroke off the winning pace of Arizona’s Erica Blasberg.

Freshman Jenny Suh continued her stellar play, finishing sixth in the individual standings with a three-round 217 tally, while sophomore Connor Atkinson (Charleston, S.C.) fired an even-par 72 on Sunday to finish 45th with a 231 total. In addition, freshman Monique Gesualdi (St. Augustine, Fla.) finished 65th with a 237 total and Tiarna Harman (Greenville, S.C.) placed 68th at 238.

The University of Georgia won the Mason Rudolph title with a three-round 874, while UCLA finished second at 878, Vanderilt was third at 886, Florida finished fourth at 889, and Arizona placed fifth at 891.

The Lady Paladin golf team, ranked sixth in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin poll, is in action again October 24-26, when it hosts the annual Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course.
