FURMAN IN FOURTH, NINE STROKES OFF LEAD, AT MASON RUDOLPH


NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- The Furman womenıs golf team was paced on Friday by senior Sarah Johnston (St. Charles, Ill.) and freshman Jenny Suh (Fairfax, Va.), who each fired a one-under 71 in round one of the Mason Rudolph Championships. As a team, Furman carded a two-over 290 and is nine strokes off UCLAıs lead pace of 281. In addition, Suh and Johnston are tied for sixth in the individual standings, four-strokes off Hannah Junıs (UCLA) leaderboard leading score of 67.

In addition to Suh and Johnston, Lady Paladin sophomore Connor Atkinson (Charleston, S.C.) and freshman Monique Gesualdi (St. Augustine, Fla.) are tied for 28th after each shot a 74, and junior Tiarna Harman (Greenville, S.C.) is in 44th after a first round 76 at the 6,302-yard Legends Club of Tennessee.

The Bruins of UCLA are trailed by Florida at 287, Georiga at 288, and the Lady Paladins and Vanderbilt, who are tied at 290.

The second round of the three-round Mason Rudolph Championships is slated for Saturday, with the final round scheduled for Sunday.
