LADY PALADIN FRESHMEN LEAD ROUND TWO CHARGE


BLYTHEWOOD, South Carolina -- Furman’s Lady Paladin golfers followed up a round one 312 with a second round 308 and are in fourth in the team standings with a 620 total, 15 strokes off the lead pace set by North Carolina.

Freshmen Jenny Suh and Theresa Paik each fired 76 on Saturday to pace the Lady Paladin effort, while senior Sarah Johnston added a 77 and Monique Gesualdi and Connor Atkinson each shot 79.

With her second consecutive 76, Suh moved into a tie for eighth in the individual standings, with a 159 total, while Paik is tied for 28th at 159. Gesualdi, who fired a 76 on Friday, is tied for 12th at 155, with Johnston in 24th at 157 and Atkinson in 28th at 159.

Sophomore Haley Gildea carded a round two 86 while playing as an individual, and is tied for 47th in the individual standings.

The University of North Carolina’s Ashley Prange is in the individual lead with a two-round 145 total, seven strokes ahead of Suh.

The third and final round of the Lady Gamecock Invitational is slated for Sunday at the 5,996-yard, par 72 University Club.
