LADY PALADINS TIED FOR FIFTH AT LADY GAMECOCK


BLYTHEWOOD, South Carolina -- Furman’s Lady Paladin golf team is tied with the University of Texas for fifth after shooting a round one 312 at the Lady Gamecock Classic.

The Lady Paladins were led by freshmen Jenny Suh and Monique Gesualdi, who each recorded a four-over 76 and are tied for ninth at the 6,995-yard, par 72 University Club. Suh tallied four birdies on the day while Gesualdi recorded one of three eagles in Friday's round.

Sophomore Connor Atkinson and senior Sarah Johnston rounded out Lady Paladin scoring, each with an 80, while freshman Theresa Paik was the non-counter on the day after an 83. Sophomore Haley Gildea, meanwhile, fired a 79 playing as an individual.

The host Gamecocks are currently in the lead at the Invitational after a firest round 300. North Carolina is second at 303. Round two of the Lady Gamecock Classic is slated for Saturday, with the third and final round planned for Sunday.
