GEORGIA SWEEPS LADY PALADIN GOLF TITLES IN RECORD FASHION;
HOST FURMAN FINISHES FIFTH


GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- The seventh ranked Bulldogs of Georgia swept the team and individual titles Sunday at the Lady Paladin Invitational in record style, firing 291-283-292 for a three-day 866 total, 26 strokes better than second-place Tulsa, and 11 better than the previous tournament record of 877, set in 2000 by Auburn. In addition, Natalia Nicholls fired a final round 70 to move from sixth to first in the individual standings, winning medalist honors with a three-round 215.

In addition to Nichollsš first place finish, UGAšs Whitney Wade placed second at 216, Kelly Froelich was fourth at 219, Allison Martin was sixth at 221, and Lisa Tyler took ninth at 222. TCUšs Brooke Tull, the defending Lady Paladin Invitational individual champion, placed second with a three round 216, while Tulsašs Cas Bridge tied for fourth at 219.

The 16th ranked Lady Paladins had their worst scores of the fall in finishing fifth at 907. Furman fired a 301 in the final round with freshman Jenny Suh securing a sixth place individual showing with a 221 total, while senior Sarah Johnston fired 77-74-76 to place 20th at 227. Junior Tiarna Harman carded a final-round 74 to place 24th, while Connor Atkinson took 38th at 234 and Monique Gesualdi finished 55th at 241.

Sundayšs win marked the fifth Lady Paladin Title won by the University of Georgia and the first since 1998.
