FURMAN LADY PALADINS IN 10TH AT LADY GAMECOCK

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furman’s Lady Paladin golf team is in 10th at the 15-team Lady Gamecock Invitational after firing a 318 in Friday’s first round at the 5,996-yard, par 72 University Club.

Senior Leigh Turner paced the Paladins with a two-over 74 and is in ninth in the individual standings, two strokes off the lead, which is held by a trio of golfers. Brandi Jackson carded a four-over 78 on Friday and is in 30th, while Cimmie Shahan stands 48th after carding an 80. Freshman Connor Atkinson and sophomore Tiarna Harman are tied for 72 after both shot 86. Wake Forest leads the Lady Gamecock after shooting a 296 on Friday, while Duke is second after a 300.

The second round of the Invitational is slated for Saturday with the final round scheduled for Sunday.
