FURMAN GOLFERS TAKE 12TH AT LIZ MURPHEY


ATHENS, Georgia -- Furman’s Lady Paladin golf team fired a final round 304 Sunday at the Liz Murphey Invitational, to finish 12th in the field of 17 with a 932 total.

Brandi Jackson was the top Furman finisher, shooting 74-74-75 (223) to take 17th in the individual standings. Fellow senior Leigh Turner placed 34th with a 228 total following a final-round 78, while freshman Connor Atkinson took 77th with rounds of 80-81-82 to her credit. Cimmie Shahan and Tiarna Harman tied for 80th after shooting rounds of 81 and 80, respectively, over the final 18 holes.

Duke won the team title with a three-round 876, while the Blue Devil’s Elizabeth Janangelo took medalist honors with rounds of 72-69-69 (210).
