Jackson Fourth, Lady Paladins Eighth After One Round at Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge


Destin, Florida-- The Furman Lady Paladin golf team shot an opening round 303 to grab eighth place at the Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge at the Raven Course in Sandestin, Fla., Friday afternoon.

Senior Brandi Jackson led the Lady Paladin effort by shooting and even par 71 to hold a share of fourth place heading into Saturday's second round. Jackson sits just four strokes behind first round leader Elizabeth Janangelo of Duke and only one stroke behind third place Celeste Troche of Auburn.

Auburn and Mississippi State each fired 294 in the opening round to take a one stroke advantage over Florida. Duke stands three strokes off the pace after posting a first round 297.

The second round gets underway Saturday at 7:30a.m. with third round action scheduled to begin Sunday morning at 8:00.
