Jackson Claims Fifth at Mason Rudolph Golf Championships
Franklin, Tennessee -- Lady Paladin golfer Brandi Jackson fired a final round 73 to finish third at the Mason Rudolph Championships at the Legends Club of Tennessee Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Paladins shot a three round total of 916 to edge out Tulane for fifth place.
Jackson, a senior from Belton, S.C., followed her first round 74 with back to back scores of 73 to finish four over par. Senior Cimmie Shahan recorded the second best score by a Lady Paladin, twelve over par, to finish in a three-way tie for 19th place. Vanderbilt golfer Courtney Wood took individual medalist honors by shooting a third-round best 69 and finishing two under par for the tournament. Wood shot a 77 in opening round play before rebounding with a tournament-low 68 in the second round.
Vanderbilt claimed the team title with a three-day total of 878. They were followed by Arizona (296-287-304=887), Tennessee (298-307-297=902), Ohio State (303-303-296=902) and Furman (309-301-306=916)
The Lady Paladin golfers will be back in action Friday at the Dodge ACC/SEC Challenge in Destin, Fla.
