Turner Holds Second at Franklin Street Trust/Tarheel Invitational

Sandestin, Fla.. --Leigh Turner fired a four under par 68 to grab second place after the first round of the Franklin Street Trust/Tarheel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., Friday afternoon.

Turner, a senior from Alpharetta, Ga., shot a 33 on the front nine and a 35 on the back nine to hold a two stroke advantage over third pace Kristin Tamulis of Florida State. Liz Janangelo of Duke holds the first round lead with a five under 67.

The Lady Paladins struggled as a team firing a 308 and finishing 13th on the first day of play. Furman is only two strokes behind 12th place Wake Forest, but 18 strokes back of first round leader Duke.

Second round action will begin Saturday morning with the final round scheduled for Sunday
