Furman, Leigh Turner Lead Lady Paladins Invitational After Second Round

Greenville, S.C. --Furman's Leigh Turner fired a four uner-par 68 to take the lead after the second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course Saturday afternoon. The Lady Paladins, tied for the lead after round one, shot a 293 to grab a five stroke lead over South Carolina.

Turner (Alpharetta, Ga.) birdied four holes without a bogey to take a one stroke advantage over TCU's Brooke Tull. Turner fired one under-par 35 on the front nine and a three under-par 33 on the back nine. Tull followed up a first round 74 with a 69 Saturday.

Furman's Brandi Jackson (Belton, S.C.) who shot a 73 on the opening day of play, recorded a 72 to move into a tie for third place entering the final round. UNCG's Jenny Gleason (71-74=145) dropped from second to third after a second-day 74.

Final round action begins with a shotgun start at 9:00a.m. Sunday
