LADY PALADINS IN 10TH AT MERCEDES BENZ COLLEGIATE

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee -- Furman's Lady Paladin golf team moved from 12th to 10th in the Mercedes Benz Collegiate on the strength of a second-round 308 Saturday at the Gettsyvue Polo, Golf and Country Club. The Lady Paladins have a two-day 624 total.

The Lady Paladins were paced by junior Brandi Jackson (Belton, S.C.) who carded a team-low 76 at the 5,985-yard, par 72 course. Jackson is 40th after two rounds with a 156 total. Junior Leigh Turner is 24th individually after rounds of 75-77, while Sarah Johnston holds 39th with rounds of 77-78 to her credit. Cimmie Shahan is in 60th with a 161 total after shooting 77 on Saturday and Tara Schultz is 76th with a 178 two-day total.

The Georgia Bulldogs lead the Mercedes Benz Collegiate with a two-day 594 total, one stroke better than the Duke Blue Devils.

Furman is playing without senior All-American Jennifer Perri,who is out with tendonitis.
