FURMAN WOMEN'S GOLF EARNS NCAA BID

Greenville, South Carolina--On Monday, the NCAA women's golf committee announced the field for the 2001 NCAA golf championships slated for May 10-12.

The Lady Paladin golf team is heading to Corvallis, Oregon next week to compete in the West Regional hosted by Oregon State at Trysting Tree Golf Club. Furman has competed in the NCAA regional for eight straight years,and advanced to the National Championships seven times in the 90's.

Head Coach Mic Potter said, "We are happy to be going to Oregon State, and we intend on playing our best for a chance at the National Championships." The Lady Paladins will have to finish in the top eight of 21 teams in the field in order to earn a spot at the Nationals, hosted by the University of Central Florida in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla, May 23-26.
