FURMAN WOMEN CARD SECOND ROUND 311; PERRI FIRES PAR

CORVALLIS, Oregon -- Furman's Lady Paladin golf team is in 15-place at 623, after carding a second round 311 Friday at the NCAA West Regional in Corvallis, Ore. The Lady Paladins are eight strokes out of eighth place, key because the top eight finishers in the regional advance to the NCAA Championships, May 23-26 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

Jennifer Perri paced the Lady Paladin squad with an even-par 72 over the 6,089-yard Trysting Tree Golf Course. Perri's two-round 147 total places her 11th in the individual standings, 11 strokes off the lead held by Arizona's Natalie Gulbis. The junior from Eden Prairie, Minn., started the day with five straight pars, but recorded two birdies and two bogeys to keep her even on the day.

Sophomore Sarah Johnston fired a second consecutive 79 and is in 59th at 158, while Brandi Jackson followed up her first round 75 with an 80 and is in 40th. Redshirt sophomore Leigh Turner is 84th after firing an 80 in round two, while freshman Tiarna Harman is tied with Turner after firing an 81.

The third and final round of the NCAA West Regional is slated for Saturday, May 12. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m.with the Lady Paladins set to tee off at 12:10 p.m.
