LADY PALADINS IN EIGHTH AT LIZ MURPHEY

ATHENS, Georgia -- Furman's Lady Paladin golf team climbed one spot to eighth place with a 307 team total in round two of the Liz Murphey Collegiate, Saturday at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens.

Furman was paced on Saturday by sophomore Brandi Jackson (Belton, S.C.), who took 10 strokes off her first day total and fired a two-over 74 to move into 41st individually. Overall, the Lady Paladins continue to be led by junior Jennifer Perri (Eden Prairie, Minn.), who followed up her first round 77 with a 78 on Saturday and is 26th with a 155 tally. Sophomore Leigh Turner (Alpharetta, Ga.) also carded a second round 78 and is in 35th with a 157 score, while sophomore Sarah Johnston chased her first round 82 with a 77 and is in 47th at 159. Furman's non counter on the day was freshman Tiarna Harman (Greenville, S.C.), who carded her second consecutive 81 over the 6,104 yard course and is 58th in the individual standings.

Furman's two day 626 total puts them six strokes behind seventh-place Auburn and one stroke better than Nebraska and Michigan State, who are tied for ninth. The top-ranked Duke Blue Devils hold the tournament lead with a two-day 594 total. UGA is in second at 605.
