FURMAN'S PERRI TAKES OVER SOCON LEAD

BOONE, North Carolina -- Furman junior Jennifer Perri fired a one-over 73 on Monday to take over the lead in the Southern Conference Tournament with one round left to play. The Lady Paladin team fired a second-round 317 and is in first place, 17 strokse ahead of UNC Greensboro.

Perri's second round 73 gave the Eden Prairie, Minn., native a two-round 149 total, three strokes better than UNCG's Jessica Fought, who is in second. Lady Paladin sophomore Leigh Turner is in third after a second round 77, while Brandi Jackson sits in fourth at 157, following a round-two 83. Furman's Sarah Johnston holds the fifth spot after recording rounds of 75-84 (159), while Tiarna Harman is 18th with rounds of 84-85to her credit.

The third and final round of the Southern Conference Tournament is slated for Tuesday at the Hounds Ear Resort in Boone, N.C.
