FURMAN MEN IN NINTH AT KIAWAH

KIAWAH ISLAND, South Carolina -- Furman's Paladin golf team is tied for ninth after two rounds at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, 27 strokes out of the lead held by North Florida.

The Paladins fired 298-291 and were led by junior Brian Scurlock, who carded 73-72 (145) and freshman Matt Davidson, who carded 76-69 (145). The tandem is tied for 23rd. Jay Mundy, another Furman rookie, fired 79-72 and is in 46th with a 151 tally, while sophomore Kirk Satterfield shot 74-78 and is 50th with a 152 tally. Furman Buddy Davis went 75-79 for 65th place.

The final round of the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate is slated for Tuesday at the 6,871-yard, par 72 Osprey Point Golf Club.
