FURMAN LINKSTERS FINISH 13TH AT IRON DUKE

DURHAM, North Carolina -- Furman's Paladin golf team recorded a 13th-place, 35-over finish with rounds of 303-308 at the Iron Duke Classic Sunday and Monday. The host Blue Devils took team honors with a 10-over showing, while Augusta State finished second and Florida Southern and Northwestern tied for third.

The Paladins were led by freshman Jay Mundy, who carded 73-78 to finish 28th individually with a 151 total. Junior Brian Scurlock fired a second round 74 and placed 43rd with a 153 total, while Kirk Satterfield carded 75 and placed 47th with a 154 tally.

Meanwhile, freshman Matt Davidson followed up a first-round 74 with an 81 and finished in 56th at 155 and fellow freshman Buddy Davis carded rounds of 77-85 to finish 80th with a score of 162.

The Paladins are in action again November 1-2, at the Country Club of Louisiana Invitational, sponsored by the Louisiana State Tigers.
