PALADIN GOLFERS EIGHTH IN RAIN-SHORTENED IRON DUKE CLASSIC

DURHAM, North Carolina -- The Furman men's golf team is tied for eighth at 308, 12 strokes out of the lead at the Iron Duke Classic, after Sunday's planned 36 holes were shortened to 18 due to inclement weather.

The Paladins are led by freshman Jay Mundy, who carded a one-over 73 at the 7,045-yard, par 72 Duke Golf Club, and is in 10th with one round to play. Fellow freshman Matt Davidson is in 18th after a first-round 74, while Buddy Davis carded 77 and is in 46th.

Furman's two upperclassmen, Brian Scurlock and Kirk Satterfield, are tied for 63rd after a pair of first round 79s.
