PALADINS IN 10TH AT COCA-COLA TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee -- Furman's Paladin golf team is tied with Georgia State for 10th at the Tennessee/Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions, after firing 299-290 at Holsten Hills Country Club on Monday.

Sophomore Kirk Satterfield paced the Paladins with rounds of 74-70 and is tied for 13th individually, five strokes out of the lead at 144. Freshman Jay Mundy was Furman's next best performer on Monday, carding a pair of 73s for a 146 total and tie for 25th. Junior Brian Scurlock shot 75-73 and is 40th with a 148 score, while freshman Buddy Davis's 77-76 placed him all alone in 64th with a 153 total. Matt Davidson was the Paladin non-counter in the first round thanks to an 80, but the freshman from West Windsor, N.J. bounced back with a second-round 74 and is in 65th at 154.

The third and final round of the Tournament of Champions is slated for Tuesday at the 6,932-yard par 72 course. Augusta State is leading the tournament with a 571 total; Virginia is second at 574 and North Carolina State is third at 577.
