FURMAN INTERCOLLEGIATE CALLED DUE TO DARKNESS

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Changing conditions slowed play on Saturday, making it impossible to finish the second 18-hole round of the day at the 31st annual Furman Intercollegiate. With 12 of the 19 teams completed, the Bucs of East Tennessee State and the Cavaliers of Virginia are tied atop the leaderboard with 582 totals. Maryland is third at 585, UNC Charlotte is fourth at 590, and Old Dominion is fifth at 592. The hosting Furman Paladins hold the sixth spot with a 599 total.

The University of Virginia was paced on Saturday by James Driscoll, who leads the individual race with a 138 total, three strokes ahead of Maryland's Keith Unikel, who tallied a 141 on the day and is in second place. ETSU reached the top of the leaderboard by having three individuals in the top 10: Pat Beste is third at 142, Chris Wisler is fifth at 143, and Adam Riddering is 10th with a 147. The top Furman individual is Buddy Davis, who is playing for the JV team and is in sixth, seven strokes off the lead.

Barring frost, play will begin Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m., with the final two round two groups finishing up on each side. Approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the second round, set tee times will begin for round three. The teams ranked seven, eighth, and ninth will go off number one at approximately 8:30, with the 10th, 11th, and 12th teams teeing off number 10 at the same time. The leaders will tee off number one beginning about 9:50 a.m.
