FURMAN MEN TIED FOR 12TH AT AUGUSTA STATE INVITE

AUGUSTA, Georgia -- The Furman men's golf team fired 295-291 on Saturday and is tied with Wake Forest and Wofford for 12th at the Augusta State Invitational with a 586 total. Augusta State leads the tournament with a 566 total after carding 287-279 on Saturday.

Junior Brian Scurlock paced the Paladins with rounds of 74-70 and is 21st individually with a 144 total. Freshman Buddy Davis is just one stroke behind his teammate after carding 70-75 for 30th in the standings. Freshman Matt Davidson is 43rd after shooting 75-72, David Sligh is 71st with rounds of 77-74 under his belt, and Vance Embry is 93rd after carding 76-82 at the 6,875 yard, par 72 Forest Hills Golf Course.

The third and final round of the Augusta State Invitational is slated for Sunday, April 2.
