FURMAN GOLFERS IN EIGHTH AT 49ER COLLEGIATE

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- The Paladin golf team fired a first-round, four-over 292 and is eighth at the UNC Charlotter 49er Collegiate with two rounds left to play.

Matt Davidson (West Windsor, N.J.) is in seventh in the individual standings after shooting a first-round three-under 69, while Buddy Davis (Orlando, Fla.) and Noble Judy (Nashville, Tenn.) each fired a 74 and are tied for 32nd. Freshman Ben Goforth (Shelby, N.C.) rounded out the Paladin scorers on Monday with a 75, while sophomore Thomas Self (Greenwood, S.C.) carded a 77 and is 48th on the individual leaderboard.

Round two of the 49er Collegiate is slated for Monday afternoon with the third and final round scheduled for Tuesday at 7,028-yard par 72 Skybrook Golf Club.
