PALADINS FINISH SEVENTH AT PALMETTO INTERCOLLEGIATE


AIKEN, South Carolina -- Senior Buddy Davis (Orlando, Fla.) carded a final round 70 to finish tied for second in the Palmetto Intercollegiate at 208, four strokes off the winning pace of South Carolina’s Erik Johansen. The Paladin team fired a final round 289 to place seventh in the team standings with a three-round total of 873.

Furman’s Matt Davidson (West Windsor, N.J.) also earned a top 10 finish with a final round 71 at the 6,380-yard, par 71 Palmetto Golf Club. Davidson’s three round total of 213 placed him ninth overall, followed on the Furman team by Shane Birckbichler (Travelers Rest, S.C.), who shot 70 on Tuesday to place 31st at 222. Junior Rob Langley (Atlanta, Ga.) rounded out the Paladin counters with a third round 78 and placed 54th, while Noble Judy (Nashville, Tenn.) finished 73rd after an 89.

Furman continues the spring season March 26-28, when the Paladins host the annual Furman Intercollegiate at the Furman University Golf Course.
