PALADINS FALL TO 12TH IN JIM HACKLER INVITATIONAL


MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina -- Furman’s Paladin golf team followed up a round one 302 with a 308 and a 301 to fall from sixth into 12th at the Jim Hackler Invitational, hosted by Coastal Carolina at the 6,950 yard, par 72 TPC of Myrtle Beach.

Matt Davidson (West Windsor, N.J.) and Rob Langley (Atlanta, Ga.) led the Paladin effort. Davidson shot 74-76-76, while Langley carded 74-79-73 to tie Davidson for 33rd with a three-round 226. Buddy Davis (Orlando, Fla.) recorded the team’s low score in the second round with a 74, but shot 78 in round one and 75 in round three to finish 33rd with a 227 tally. T.J. Blandford (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) fired 76-81-77 to finish 63rd at 234, while Noble Judy (Nashville, Tenn.) rounded out the Paladin effort in 80th, after rounds of 83-79-77.

Pepperdine University won the Jim Hackler Invitational with a three-day 870 total, while the Paladins’ three day sum was 911. Furman’s next competition is March 15-16 at the USC-Aiken Cleveland Golf Collegiate.
