FURMAN FIRES 302 TO FINISH SEVENTH AT WOFFORD INVITATIONAL

SPARTANBURG, South Carolina -- Furman junior Ryan Potter, a product of J.L. Mann High School in Greenville, recorded a career-best 72 in the final round of the Wofford Invitational on Saturday to earn a seventh-place finish in the individual standings, while leading the Paladin team to its own seventh place finish in the team roll.

Potter followed up a first-round 74 with Saturday’s even-par 18 to earn his first career top 10 finish and pace the Furman team to a second round 302 and 602 final score. Buddy Davis and T.J. Blandford ended the tournament tied for 23rd with a 151 total, while Noble Judy took 48th with a 158 and Shane Birckbichler finished 52nd at 159. The Paladins’ Hagan Jordan played as an individual and placed 39th after rounds of 76-79.

The Wofford Invitational was the Paladins’ last competition before the Southern Conference Tournament begins April 18 at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.
