FURMAN GOLFERS TAKE 11TH AT CLEVELAND COLLEGIATE

AIKEN, South Carolina -- Furman’s Paladin golf team fired a final round 297 on Tuesday to finish 11th in the 15-team Cleveland Collegiate Invitational with a two-round 590 total at the par 71, 6,380-yard Palmetto Golf Club. The Cougars of the College of Charleston won the competition with a 569 tally.

Junior Buddy Davis carded 71-73 to finish 15th individually at 144, while T.J. Blandford shot 76-71 to finish 30th at 147. The Paladins’ Hagan Jordan and Rob Langley tied for 52nd at 151, while Noble Judy followed up his first round 73 with an 83 to fall into 73rd. Thomas Self, a sophomore from Greenwood, S.C., placed 78th playing as an individual.

Furman is in action again this Friday through Saturday, when the Paladins host the 34th annual Furman Intercollegiate at the 6,800-yard, par 72 Furman University Golf Course.
